Guinness World Records title/World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) title

On Sunday, October 14, 2012 at around 12:46pm, Davy Whippet and Rob McLeod broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Flying Disc Throw Caught By a Dog and the WFDF World Record for Distance to Canine Catch with a catch at 134 yards (402 feet). Not only did Davy and Rob break a record that has stood for more than 18 years (set in 1994 by Cheyenne Whippet and Mark Molnar), but Davy also becomes the first dog to officially catch a flying disc over 400 feet.

Guinness World Records title/World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) title

On Monday, October 9, 2017 Rob McLeod and Davy Whippet unofficially broke the Canine MTA Guinness and WFDF World Record with a throw and catch of 10.59 seconds. This breaks the previous record of 10.56 seconds set in 2014 by Rob and Davy. Rob is throwing a Frisbee Fastback from Discovering the World. The wind was perfect, the sun was high in the sky and Davy was tracking Rob’s throws perfectly.

UPDATE: Rob and Davy are in the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records for this record (on page 40 under Dazzling Dogs), in the 2015 Guinness Book (page 112) and in the 2015 Ripley’s Book (page 82).

New Quadruped World Record – 116.5 yards

UPDATE: Rob McLeod and Davy Whippet broke the Quadruped World Record at the Denver Quadruped on August 4, 2012 with a catch at 116.5 yards (349.8 feet).

2012 Update

Rob McLeod and Davy Whippet broke both the Classic and Unlimited World Records at the 2012 Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Thursday, September 20 with a throw of 281 feet and 291 feet, respectively. Here is a video showing the 2 World Record throws + catches. Rob and Davy also became World Champions in both events.

First Skyhoundz World Record – August 2011

In the Skyhoundz Western Regional qualifying tournament for the Skyhoundz World Championships, Rob threw a disc 92 yards and Davy Whippet, owned and trained by Lara Sorenson, caught it. The disc, a Hyperflite Comp Standard, got held up in the wind and Davy Whippet was able to track and catch the disc.
